The origin of the name Tè Tao : Tè, for “ Earth ” in Creole, and Tao for “ Taoism” (道 dào).
道 symbolizes Taoism , which is called道教 (dàojiào) in Chinese. Literally, 道教 means “ teaching of the way .”
Taoism is one of the three pillars of Chinese thought along with Confucianism and Buddhism, and is based on
the existence of a principle at the origin of all things, called “Tao”.
Tè Tao is therefore the Land of the Dao.
